LIS 648: Week Five

This week, I got to venture upstairs to the Calvin C. McLung Historical Collection, located on the third floor of our building. I was shown around by a veteran collection employee, Ted. He has been with the Historical Collection for 40 years!

He took me around the collection's third floor location, which is much larger than the archives down on the second floor. They have a pretty large collection of books relating to various periods in history that aid patrons with their research. He also introduced me to every employee of the collection and the East TN Historical Society that we could find! I met the Historical Society's resident historian as well as a librarian from Mississippi--you really can go anywhere and find a Mississippi connection!
