Hello, I'm Lauren!
I'm a University of Mississippi Rebel living in Tennessee Volunteer territory. I work for the University of Tennessee's College of Veterinary Medicine while also working on my MLIS and Archival Graduate Certificate. While most of my time is taken up by my job and graduate school, when I have time, I love hiking and biking and reading and doing Pure Barre!
This is my reflective journal for LIS 648: Archival Practicum.
I'll be completing my practicum at the Knox County Archives in Knoxville, TN under the supervision of Mrs. Doris Martinson who holds her MLS from the University of Tennessee and is also a Certified Archivist.
According to their website, the Knox County Archives "recieve, process, and preserve the non-current, permanent records created by the county government since 1792." The archive is housed in the same building as the Museum of East Tennessee History as well as the Calvin M. McClung Historical Collection.
